Hello, world!

Where to begin? And what is education in (or with) 4K?

Before we get started on our project, we'd recommend you check out this great video of a project piloted at the STEM School of Chattanooga:

USC/STEM School Chattanooga: 4K Microscope from The Enterprise Center on Vimeo.

Done? Awesome. Well, we hope you found that as inspiring as we did. High school students, leveraging gigabit connectivity, are participating in project-based learning (at a college level!) using 4K microscopy, in real-time, with a professor stationed 1,800 miles away at USC.

The folks behind this incredible platform are working with the Mozilla Gigabit Community Fund on scaling the project, as well as making the technology more accessible to students across Hamilton County (where Chattanooga, TN is located) and around the globe.

Our team has worked closely with the brains behind that original pilot, and now with our partners Mozilla, on tracking 4K learning all the way back to kindergarten. We're using 4K technology to stream exhibits form the Tennessee Aquarium into classrooms across the district, distributing access to a community resource many students might only every visit once throughout the course of their education.

We're also working with a team of educators to design and pilot curriculum, aligned to grade-level standards, to integrate 4K learning into the school day and science classrooms, K-8. We want all students to have access to the incredible opportunities our gigabit network can make available - and to a high quality and engaging education, regardless of zipcode.

We'll be posting updates to the project, information about pilots and access to all of the materials we develop - stick with us!
